The 49ers' 12-5 season was solid, but the offensive line has become a concern as key pieces age and injuries accumulate. At No. 27, San Francisco needs to find a lineman who can step into the rotation immediately and eventually replace one of the current starters. The depth of this class at both tackle and interior positions should allow them to find value here, even in the late first round.
Cornerback is the other position worth considering, especially in an NFC West where opposing passing attacks are getting better. The 49ers' system thrives on defensive versatility and coverage disguises, so a corner who can play both press and off with equal comfort would be ideal. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have consistently drafted well in the late first round - Deebo Samuel, Javon Kinlaw, Trey Lance notwithstanding - and this pick needs to follow the pattern of adding a plug-and-play contributor to a roster that expects to contend for a Super Bowl.
