New York Jets Mock Draft
National Football League Mock Draft • 2026 Season
New York Jets Draft Analysis
The Jets hold five first-round picks over the next two drafts, including Nos. 2 and 16 this year, giving new head coach Aaron Glenn enormous draft capital to reshape a roster that finished 3-14. New York acquired Geno Smith as a bridge quarterback and has overhauled the defense in free agency, trading for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and signing edge rusher Joseph Ossai, linebacker Demario Davis, and nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat. Still, the Jets generated just four takeaways last season, the fewest by any team since at least 1940, so adding a defensive playmaker remains the top priority.
Arvell Reese from Ohio State is the most commonly mocked selection at No. 2. The hybrid linebacker-edge rusher posted 34 quarterback pressures from just 138 pass-rushing snaps in college, with half of those resulting in sacks or hits. Reese's positional versatility as a modern defensive weapon fits perfectly alongside the veterans Glenn has already assembled, and his ability to play off-ball or rush the edge gives New York's defense a dynamic it has been missing. At No. 16, the Jets could target wide receiver Makai Lemon from USC, who would give Garrett Wilson a legitimate running mate in the passing game with his elite route-running and yards-after-catch ability. Alternatively, guard Olaivavega Ioane from Penn State could reinforce an offensive line that lost John Simpson and Alijah Vera-Tucker in free agency. With this much draft capital, the Jets have the flexibility to address multiple roster holes without reaching at any single position.
