New York Giants Mock Draft
National Football League Mock Draft • 2026 Season
New York Giants Draft Analysis
New head coach John Harbaugh has made clear he wants to compete for a playoff spot immediately, and the offseason moves reflect that urgency. The Giants signed tight end Isaiah Likely, who followed Harbaugh from Baltimore, added linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on a three-year deal, and brought in cornerback Greg Newsome II to upgrade the secondary. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and receiver Darnell Mooney provide offensive intrigue, but the roster still has holes, particularly along the offensive line and in the secondary, where New York managed just 15 takeaways last season, 25th in the league.
At No. 5, Caleb Downs from Ohio State has emerged as a popular projection. Kiper's latest mock has Downs landing with the Giants, where his elite range and communication skills would pair with Jevon Holland to form a dynamic safety tandem that could immediately improve both the turnover numbers and the run defense. If the Giants prefer to address the trenches, Sonny Styles remains an option, though the Edmunds signing somewhat reduces the linebacker need. There is also growing speculation that New York could trade down from No. 5 to accumulate Day 2 picks, since they currently hold only two selections inside the top 100. Adding an extra second or third-rounder would let them address guard, offensive tackle, or wide receiver depth, especially after losing Wan'Dale Robinson to the Titans. In a loaded NFC East, the Giants need to extract every ounce of value from this draft to keep pace with Philadelphia, Dallas, and a resurgent Washington.
