Houston's 12-5 season confirmed the Texans are for real, but sustaining that success requires reinforcing the offensive line and adding depth defensively. At No. 28, the Texans can afford to take the best available player regardless of position, a luxury earned by having a young, complete roster. Pass protection for C.J. Stroud remains the top priority - the line showed cracks in the playoffs, and a guard or tackle who can start immediately would go a long way toward keeping the franchise quarterback upright.
Defensively, a linebacker or defensive back who can contribute to Nick Caserio's scheme would provide insurance against injuries that hit every contending roster. The AFC South is there for the taking, but the Texans need to stay aggressive to fend off Jacksonville's improvement and a Colts team that is getting healthier.
