Dallas holds two first-rounders - No. 12 and No. 20 via Green Bay - and the Cowboys need to make both count after a 7-9-1 season that featured too many blown leads and defensive breakdowns. Sonny Styles, the Ohio State linebacker-safety hybrid, has been mocked to Dallas in multiple projections, including Daniel Jeremiah's and Lance Zierlein's. At 227 pounds with a 4.44 forty, Styles would give the Cowboys a run defender and box safety capable of pairing with Jalen Thompson and Malik Hooker to curtail the 54 plays of 25-plus yards Dallas allowed last season - the most in the NFL.
At No. 20, the Cowboys could target a receiver or offensive lineman to support Dak Prescott. The edge rusher position also looms, especially with Micah Parsons returning from an ACL tear and Rashan Gary traded away. Having two cracks at premium talent in a single draft is a luxury the Cowboys haven't enjoyed in years, and Jerry Jones has publicly signaled that both picks will be used on starters, not developmental pieces. If Dallas hits on both, this is a team that could look very different by September.
